Starting in 2013, research and development began in an attempt to find a solution that would help to improve upon the environmental impact and aid in the long-term resiliency of concrete. Our extensive research suggested that Repurposed Tire Fiber (RTF) would be a strong candidate for significantly increasing the durability of concrete – helping to lower the concrete industry's carbon footprint by extending the useful life of all concrete applications for which Repurposed Tire Fiber (RTF) is incorporated.
Our approach — which incorporates a problematic waste stream from one industry and converts it into a value-added, performance-enhancing additive in another — creates a significant win/win for both industries by simultaneously improving their respective environmental impacts. Atlantis Holdings Ltd is based out of Vancouver, BC and is the parent company of AtlantisFiber™ Manufacturing. Atlantis Holdings Ltd operates primarily as an umbrella company invested in the development of Repurposed Tire Fiber (RTF) manufacturing materials.
Climate change is real and its negative impact on private and public infrastructure - from buildings to bridges and pavements - cannot be ignored.
Atlantis' Mission is to support the crucial efforts to maintain and rebuild these infrastructures to keep lives safe, ensure that critical supply chains continue to flow where they are needed most and do so in an environmentally responsible and impactful manner.
Atlantis is an advanced materials technology company whose core vision is to create highly durable, resilient and carbon-neutral building materials. We incorporate significant levels of up-cycled material and industrial by-products from several industries where sustainable solutions for these waste streams do not currently exist.
With these materials, we repair old and decaying buildings and infrastructure, thereby greatly reducing the carbon inputs that would otherwise result in the demolition and complete rebuild of these key assets. We breathe new life into vital and neglected segments of the built environment.
Lastly, we add resilience to new buildings and infrastructure, giving them greatly extended service lives and the ability to combat the ever-increasing demands that our vastly changing environment imposes upon them.
Simply put, concrete should last longer. We believe that a significant life-cycle improvement, achieved through more resilient concrete, is just as crucial as one-time carbon sequestration methods with respect to meaningful GHG reduction.
